Wedding attire

There seems to be some confusion on the attire. If you look down, there's a mention of flip flops and shorts....that was for the engagement party.

The attire for next Saturday is dressy. I like to call it "Driskill Dressy!" Basically, suit and tie for the boys and cocktail dresses or something fabulous for the girls. It's a rare occasion any of us get to dress up here in Austin, so break out your finery. It's going to be a blast!

Hello family and friends. The wedding is fast approaching! 9 days till we are married. We can’t wait to see all of you there.

Here is some handy information you may want to be aware of:

**The ceremony starts at 5PM in The Crystal Room. Once you enter the hotel, there will be ushers and hotel management to guide you to the right spot.

**After the ceremony, there will be cocktails and hor douvres in the Victorian Room. The reception should start winding down around 10:30PM, so get your beauty sleep the night before.

**Valet parking will be available for $14. Otherwise, here are some Austin cab numbers:

hello my dear friends and family,
just a friendly reminder for anyone coming in from out-of-town or wanting a hotel room downtown: our hotel pricing/selection expires september 13th. so please get your room booked quickly!

also, don't forget to send in your RSVPs. the due date is fast approaching. i love receiving those little envelopes in the mail. we have had a few days without any in the mail and it leaves me quite sad. so far i have 66 of you naughty guests that have not replied. don't make me chase you because i will! :)

engagement party information

just in case you were wondering...

-the dress code is very casual. sun dresses, short and flip flops are suggested attire.

-we will be serving light hor douvres, or a cocktail buffet if you want to get fancy with it. matt won't be at the grill for this party.

things are looking a tad bit different around here with our lovely engagement pictures spicing up the blog. our photographer sarah is amazing. we are so happy with our pictures! we felt she really captured our personality and style. i can't wait for the wedding photos. enjoy!

good morning readers. i have been calling around to set up a hotel block for any guests needing to book a room for the engagement party. sadly, the texas democrats will be holding a convention in austin that weekend making it impossible to get a block.

1001 wedding cranes

i have taken upon the monumentous task of folding 1000 origami cranes for our wedding. according to japanese lore, folding 1,000 origami cranes is truly a labor of love. tradition holds that the bride who finishes this task before her wedding day will be rewarded with a good and happy marriage. (the groom folds the 1001th. one!?!) the crane also mates for life and is said to live for one thousand years, ensuring the couple’s good fortune. the crane will also grant one wish.

i began my quest yesterday with my first crane.

i'm feeling pretty confident i have the technique down. my flock is quite colorful so far.

well guys, things are booking nicely! we met with our florist yesterday. she was very educated and gave me great ideas. friday we are meeting with a possible dj.

fingers are crossed that i have the majority of vendors booked. matt and i will be discussing the engagement party in the next month or so. i can't set anything in stone just yet as we may have a new house to throw our party in!! you guys know how much we love to host parties.

another thing we will get done in the next few weeks is registering. i will post up the stores here, as it is bad manners to include it in the invitation.
